PTU tut ~ Bunnilicious

My latest tutorial, just in time for Easter ~ is written assuming you have a basic knowledge of PSP.
Tutorials dont need to be copied verbatim, you can use different elements and place them where you like.
Be creative, use a tutorial as a reference but its good to "make it your own".

You will need:

1 tube of choice - I used the artwork of Jessica Dougherty, this tube can be purchased from CDO
Font of Choice - I used Girls Are Weird
The Spring into Easter scrapkit by Tezza.
This cute kit is themed to be used as either a Spring or Easter kit, it's packed with lots of elements & papers. It's well worth buying from Butterfly Blush Designs
Mura Meisters - copies

Lets get started

Open a new image 650 x 650 & floodfill white
Copy & paste patchworkflower4 as a new layer
apply mura meister copies

Duplicate layer that layer & on the original layer, adjust, blur, motion blur

Erase the blur from inside the circle
Adjust, add noise at these settings

On the duplicate layer apply a drop shadow: 2, -2, 40, 4
Use the magic wand to click inside the circle, selections modify, expand by 15
Copy & paste paper 10, right click on the layer, promote selections to layer,
Delete the original paper, deselect and drag the paper to below the frame
Copy & paste the daffodil element and place centre tag, duplicate, mirror and place slightly higher than the original
Drag the duplicate layer down underneath the orignal
Copy & paste Easter Basket1, place in front of the daffodils, slightly to the right
Copy & paste the Easter Train element as a new layer
At this point, you can have some fun using whichever elements you like...or use the ones I have:
Bunny with egg2
Balloon1, resized to 47, image rotate left 10, placed top left of the tag
Dragonfly1, resized to 47, rotated 20 and placed it top right, adjust sharpen
Add your chosen tube, resizing if necessary and place where you think it looks best on your tag
Give all layers except the frames a dropshadow of 1, -1, 40, 4

If you need to resize your tag, do it now
Add your name & correct copyright and save as a png

Thats it all done, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and email me some of your creations to show off here.

PTU Tut ~ Travellin' Emo Style

Add caption
My new tutorial, written assuming you have a basic knowledge of PSP.

Tutorials dont need to be copied word for word, you can use different elements and place them where you like. You can recolour elements, if the kit designer allows this.  Be creative, use a tutorial as a reference but its good to "make it your own".

You will need:

PSP - I used 9, but any version will do.
A tube of choice, I used art by Lady Mishka which can be bought from PTE
Mask 17 by Vaybs, which can be found here
The scrapkit I used is by Conchi of DNscraps.
The kit is called Obsessions and can be purchased from Butterfly Blush Designs
Font of Choice - I used AL Hurried Note, which can be downloaded from Fonts101
Eyecandy (any version) - gradient glow to add to name

Conchi allows recolouring of this kit, I have recoloured the heartframe 2, hearts4 element and the paper to suit my tube

Lets get started

Open a new image 650 x 650, floodfill white
Copy & Paste heartframe 2
Resize 70% and sharpen
Open the hearts4 element, mirror, copy & paste as a new layer underneath the frame layer
On the frame layer, Use the lasoo tool (freehand selection tool) set on Point to Point & click around the edges of the frame
Right click on the layer and promote selection to layer
Go to the heart4 element layer, right click and promote selection to layer
Deselect & delete the original heart4 layer, carefully erase any bits you may have showing under the frame

Copy & paste your chosen tube, and the motorbike element ~ place to your liking
Duplicate the tube & move that layer above the motorbike
On the top tube layer erase one leg, so it looks as if she's straddling the bike
Add any other elements you wish from this fab kit, resizing as necessary

Add a dropshadow of 2, -2, 30, 4 to all layers except the tube layer & the motorbike layer
Use dropshadow of 1, -8, 30, 4 to the bottom tube layer

Use dropshadow of 2, -2, 30, 4 on the motorbike layer twice
On the second dropshadow layer, use the raster deform tool and bring the top of shadow down
Manoeuvre it so you can see a shadow of the frame (see my tag for reference)

Go back down to the bottom layer, copy & paste a paper of choice
Layers, new mask layer and find the DBV 17 mask in the dropdown list
Apply with the luminence and invert boxes checked
Resize the mask layer to 110

Add your name and any text you want, adding a gradient glow and dropshadow
Delete the white background layer and merge all layers visible
If you need to resize your tag, do it now.
Add the correct copyright and your license number, if using ptu artwork
Save as a png image

Thats it, you're done !

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I'd love to see any of your creations

PTU Tut ~ Deviously Cute

Click on the tag to see a larger image

This is a simple tutorial, but is written assuming you have a basic knowledge of PSP.
Tutorials dont need to be copied verbatim, you can use different elements and place them where you like.
Be creative, use a tutorial as a reference but its good to "make it your own".

You will need:

PSP - I used 9, but any version will do.
Template 289 by Missy here
A tube of choice - I used the artwork of Jasmine Beckett-Griffith, bought when she was with CILM.
You can now buy her tubes from CDO

This kit can be purchased from Butterfly Blush Designs
Font of Choice - I used PeaNoodles Girlfriends from here
AAA Filter Transparency Vignette here
Penta.com Dot and Cross

Lets get started

Open the template, Shift & D together to duplicate it. Close the original.
Delete the top copyright layer.

Highlight the glitter cirlce edge layer, click inside with your magic wand tool
Selections, modify by 3
Copy & paste your chosen tube as a new layer ~ resize as necessary and place to your liking,
Selections, invert, delete, leave selected.
Copy paper 8 and paste as a new layer, drag both those layers underneath the glittered circle layer,
place the paper to your liking behind the tube, hit delete on the keyboard, de-select.
Add a heavy dropshadow to your tube layer -1, -6, 60, 4 with the "as a new layer" box checked

Highlight the glitter circle layer again & click inside with the magic wand, modify by 3, invert
Highlight the dropshadow layer, hit delete and deselect.

Highlight the paper and hit the delete button, move to the tube layer, delete and deselect.

Stay on the tube layer,
Apply AAA Filter Transparency Vignette with these settings: transparency 100, increase size 0, inverse box UNchecked.
Effects, Texture Effects, Blinds, horizontal, W = 2, O = 17, light from left/top, colour picked from your tube.
Add a slight dropshadow 0, -2, 50, 4 (uncheck the new layer box)
Delete the rectangle2 layer

On the Circle layer - selections, select all, float, defloat
Copy & paste paper 4 as a new layer, invert and delete as usual
Apply Penta.com Dot and Cross with these settings: 72, 10, 2
Delete the circle layer

Repeat those steps (but dont apply the filter) for the rectangle1 and thin rectangle layers, using paper 9.

Use the manual color correction tool to change the color of thin rectangle1 to match your tube or paper.

Take your magic wand and click on just the pink letters of the wordart, use the color correction tube to change it to match the rest of the tag.

Apply a dropshadow of 1, 1, 50, 4 to all the layers except the tubes
Add any of the great elements in the kit, see my tag for reference

If you need to resize your tag, do it now.

Add the correct copyright info and your name.

To add your name on a curved line -

click on your elipse tool, use any color as your foreground color, background color null
draw out a circle and take your font tool, hover the cursor over the circle line you've just drawn until you see the arrows change to a A symbol.  Click there and write your name.

Then in the layer palette, click on the little + the vector 1 layer.

Right click on the Vector 1 layer, convert to raster.

Delete the white background layer, merge visible and save as a png

I hope you liked my tutorial, I'd love to see your creations too.

PTU Tag ~ Memories

Dunno why I name my tags LOL, but thats just me I guess ;-)
It's strange tho, cos when I write a tut it can take me ages to come up with a name for it ~ and yet when I'm making a tag to post here a name just comes to me while Im making it.....weird huh ?  lol
Here's another tag I made using Mads' scrapkit Love Overdose.  You can buy this kit at Sigtag Kits.com
Visit her store to check out all the other kits she has.
Click on the tag to take you there.
This time around Im using the stunning art of Camilla Drakenborg ~ she was one of the first artists I bought when they all went PTU.....I love her art, particularly this tube which you can buy at Up Your Art

PTU Tutorial ~ Wild Thing

This is a simple tutorial, and is written assuming you have a basic knowledge of PSP.
Remember, tutorials dont need to be copied verbatim, you can use different elements and place them where you like. Be creative, use a tutorial as a reference but its good to "make it your own".
Click on the tag to see a larger image

Needed:

1 tube of choice - I used the artwork of Gennadiy Koufay, bought when he was with CILM.
(At the time of writing, there's no info about where he will be selling his art in the future).
Font of Choice - I used Rat Infested Mailbox here
Vix mask 364 from here  346-365
Eyecandy (any version) - gradient glow
Wordart is optional, I one I used can be downloaded from WordArt World
The Color Me Wild scrapkit by Treasures by Terry
This gorgeous kit can be purchased from Butterfly Blush Designs

Lets get started

Open a new image 650 x 650, floodfill it white
Copy & paste paper 1 as a new layer
Layers - new mask layer - find the Vix mask364 in the dropdown list
Apply mask source luminance, invert UNchecked - click OK
Right click on the palette layer and merge group.

Copy & paste element Paw 1, resize 75 and place it bottom right of the tag
Duplicate this layer twice and place each pawprint up the righthand side of the mask
Highlight the middle pawprint layer, image rotate left 30
Merge down those 3 layers and apply a white gradient glow with these settings

Apply gradient glow again, same basic settings but in the colour tab change your settings to these

Copy & paste Heart 5 as a new layer, resize 70, rotate left 30 and place top left of the mask
Copy & paste Corset 2, resize 50, rotate 30 right
Copy & paste matching umbrella & purse elements, rotating the umbrella right 30 and place over the top pawprint, resize the purse 70 and place bottom left of the mask
I used Flower6 resized 70 and again rotated right 30 & placed it in front of the purse.
Copy & paste Paw Chains 2 & 3 and place far left of the tag

Place your chosen tube to the left of the tag
Apply dropshadow of 1, -1, 45, 4 to all layers except the mask, pawprints and tube
On the tube layer, apply a dropshadow of 2, 5, 45, 4

The wordart I have used is huge, so in order to avoid the edges pixellating I resized to 80 percent 9 times. This step is a personal choice, and if you're happy resizing in fewer steps thats fine.

Drag the wordart layer below the tube layer.
I have left it uncoloured, again personal preference ~ but you could floodfill the word WILD if you prefer.

If you want to resize your tag, do it now, BEFORE adding your copyright info.
Add your name, give it a gradient glow and dropshadow
Delete the white background layer, merge visible

Now, add your artists credits & save as a .png

That's it, you're done !!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

I’d love to see your results.

Valentine Luv

I just love the rich colours of this Love Overdose kit, which can be purchased from Sigtagkits.com.
Thanks Mad, for letting me play with it !

Ive used the gorgeous valentine angel tube by Keith Garvey, bought when he was with MPT.
You can now buy his art from the newly opened PTE (PSP Tubes Emporium).

With all the recent happenings with the licensing sites, many in the tagging world have been thrown into a state of confusion ~ but personally, I will support my favourite artists & buy their tubes from whichever store they choose to sell from.  It's not for me to tell someone where to work or who to work for, and I wont be drawn into the drama.
PTE have announced that Keith Garvey & Elias Chatzoudis tubes bought from MPT can be used with a PTE license number.  Im still undecided at the moment whether I will do that or continue using my MPT license on tubes bought from there tho.

Teddy Cuddles Tag

I had another play around with Mad Hatters kit Angels Among Us, and as you can see it also lends itself to the less angelic tube too .....look, she even has her "Bad Girl" panties on LOL.  Thanks Mad, for letting me loose with this beautiful kit.
You can purchase the kit from Sig Tag Kits

For this tag I used the amazing art of Keith Garvey, purchased from MPT.
Keith now sells his tubes at PTE

I am now a Creative Team member of Sig Tag Kits

Happy New Year everyone !!  Start of a new year, a new decade, a new licensed site opens (CDO)  ~ AND a new venture for me.....2011 is looking good so far !

I am now part of Mad Hatters Creative Team (sigtagkits) yay !!  I love creating tags from my own ideas, Im not a great fan of following tutorials ~ I much prefer to explore my own creativity rather than copy someone elses.  Having said that,  I will still be using this blog to host tags of my own tuts, which are hosted only on Creative Addictions.

If I write any tutorials using Sig Tag Kits scrapkits, I will post the entire tut here on this blog and not on Creative Addictions.

I made this tag using a beautiful kit called Angels Among Us.  The kit includes 6 papers that measure 800 x 800 pixels and 23 elements in assorted sizes ~ and can be purchased at Sig Tag Kits.  Thank you Mad, for giving me the opportunity to have a play with this awesome kit.

Click on the tag itself to go straight to the kit I used.
I used the awesome art of Jennifer Janesko, you can now only buy her tubes at Creative Outlet Designs

Im really looking forward to creating for Sig Tag Kits, I hope you like my creations and will be back to see more.

Hugs
